I think you'll find that the toll road was sold to the local County Council some years ago: this is why the toll booth is now near the ferry rather than at the bottom of the hill near the Knoll House Hotel where it used to be. Britmax 22:21, 2 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think the interesting event in early 1986 when a bus ran off the ramp and had to be pinned to it by the ferry until it could be recovered should be mentioned but can find no reference for it. Anyone else know? Britmax (talk) 12:39, 31 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
