- There is one dead link.[1]
- The prose needs some attention throughout. Here are a few examples chosen almost at random, all from the 20th century and 21st century subsections:
- "This harbor destroyed the occurrence of a large surf break phenomenon ...". You can't destroy an occurrence. (replaced that with "prevented")
- "... before sheerly plunging into a murky stream pool." Which is it? A stream or a pool? (Wikilinked stream pool so as not to confuse readers.)
- "This spurred protests from many area residents who are common users of the path." Presumably this means "regular users of the path"?
- "... a long time before the area was annexed into the United States." Should be "annexed by".
- "... over fourty people were reported to have been killed." (done)
- "With the disappearance of Killer Dana, water circulation in the bay decreased and resultantly, as pollution from San Juan Creek continued to flow freely into the bay, and stay there for a longer period compared with if the harbor had never been built." Ungrammatical, and doesn't really make sense as written. (reworded sentence and split off extra info to make more sense)
- The summary information for File:SanJuanCanyonBridge.jpg says that it has been released into the public domain by the copyright holder, but there's no evidence of that. Same goes for File:SanJuanFlood.jpg, File:SanJuanCreekAtGanado.jpg, File:SanJuanAtGanado2.jpg, and File:Trabuco Creek.jpg, which judging by the grey bar at the bottom hasn't been downloaded properly. If these photos were downloaded from a web site then that needs to be linked to and named as their source. (Re-uploaded Trabuco Creek.jpg and problem solved, linked to original url for these images and copied disclaimer.)
- File:GroutedSlopingBoulderDrop.JPG has no author information, and neither do File:TrabucoFalls.JPG, File:SanJuanCreekWatershed.jpg, or File:San Juan Canyon.JPG. (Done, and removed File:TrabucoFalls.JPG.)
- From Dams, channelization, and levees:
- "Oso Creek has some raised banks, but it is not certain if those are legitimate levees." What's a "legitimate levee"? Are there illegitimate ones? (removed confusing wording)
- "... the extent of use of these structures is depredating with time." What does "depredating mean? (removed "depredating")
I think this article needs quite a bit of tidying up generally, so I'm placing it on hold to allow time for the work to be done before deciding whether or not to list it as a GA.

- For the Oso Creek levees, that just means that there are raised banks, but nowhere are they described as levees. In a flood, they may incidentally serve as levees but were not built for that purpose. Shannon1talk contribs 19:27, 24 July 2009 (UTC)
Update
[edit]- I'm still unhappy about the licensing on some of these images, so I've asked for a second opinion here. --Malleus Fatuorum 15:51, 3 August 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for all the work that's been done, I'm closing this review now and listing the article as a GA. I hope the image licensing issue can be resolved soon so that those nice black and white pictures can be restored to the article. --Malleus Fatuorum 14:02, 5 August 2009 (UTC)
