[edit]

There is a page for the San Jacinto Fault that was created following the creation of the page for the San Jacinto Fault Zone. The name of San Jacinto Fault is technically inaccurate; it is a series of faults rather than a single, continuous fault. Whocaresohio (talk) 05:56, 23 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Borrego Springs quake

[edit]

It should remain as notable for the time being given the USGS summary indicating its relationship to the Calexico quake and a marked increase of activity progressing northward at the current time. Tmangray (talk) 18:53, 8 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Another reason for inclusion is the release of stress on the fault, which, if it occurs periodically, may delay a subsequent powerful quake and make it less severe; a long period of no quakes is a warning sign, but a long string of minor quakes with monitored results become predictive.
