Updating Sandisk Wikipedia page

Sandisk is no longer a subsidiary or a company hence this page need to reflect the change especially the info section.

Sandisk is a brand of Western Digital but there is no building signs with Sandisk so the image needs to be removed. Also there is no headquarters and Western Digital Head Quarters is San Jose,CA.

Thanks Nanndakishore.v (talk) 00:13, 2 February 2019 (UTC)

Hi, I work for Western Digital as a content editor. In response to Nanndakishore.v's comment above, here is a Western Digital's Milpitas, California campus of the former San Disk headquarters. San Disk is now a San Disk is a brand of Western Digital (was acquired in 2016) and the building now has Western Digital signage. thumb Due to my COI, I humbly request that this photo be updated for accuracy.{````}

Updates to San Disk sidebar info

Some proposed changes

I have a few proposed edits to the information in the San Disk sidebar (box) to more accurately reflect its current status.

1. Revise the "Type" from "Subsidiary" to "Brand of Western Digital" If you go to the San Disk About Page at https://www.sandisk.com/about it is a brand of Western Digital https://www.sandisk.com/about . This will also match what is said in the Lead. San Disk was acquired by Western Digital in 2016. It is not a subsidiary, but a brand of Western Digital.

2. Revise the "headquarters" from "Milpitas", CA to "San Jose", CA The Western Digital headquarters is located in San Jose, CA. There is an office in Milpitas at the former San Disk campus. https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20190221005036/en/Western-Digital%E2%80%99s-UFS-3.0-EFD-Empowers-5G

Due to my COI, I humbly ask that you approve these changes. Thank you.

  • The type parameter was set to |type=Brand division.
  • As the infobox pertains to SanDisk alone, and the office for SanDisk in Milpitas is not the headquarters of SanDisk, the |headquarters= parameter was omitted. In its place, a {{coord}} template was appended giving the lat/long coordinates according to SanDisk's Google Maps Customer ID number #6567901696144430380.

How is this article so short for a company who almost single handedly built the flash memory industry?

SanDisk is one of the most influential companies in solid state storage, why is this article so short?

SanDisk helped develop MMC and SD cards, pushed flash memory technology forward, developed a lot of the technology that's used throughout the industry to the point that SanDisk is almost synonymous with flash memory or SSDs.

How is the history section so short? How is the article so short? This topic deserves to be expanded greatly, and it's a disservice to the tech world for such a historic company to go undocumented.
