Title of "Royal Governor"

[edit]

I changed the title ascribed to Ward's father, Samuel Ward from "Royal Governor" to "colonial governor." I did this because in only one instance did Rhode Island ever have a "Royal Governor" and that was from 1686 to 1689 when Edmund Andros ruled over all of the northern colonies of America under the Dominion of New England. Otherwise, every single governor in colonial Rhode Island was elected by the freemen of the colony, thus the term "Royal Governor" is inappropriate.Sarnold17 (talk) 11:21, 15 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
