Wine auction
[edit]Not worthy of comment in the main article, but perhaps of interest to a passing researcher, might be an auction, by Messrs. Christie and Manson, on 27 June 1866,
of The Very Choice Cellar of Wines, Of The Late Samuel Rickards, Esq., of Piccadilly (Now lying at his private residence at Acton): Comprising fine Sherry of 1851 and 1862; Ports of the Vintages of 1815, 1847, 1851, 1853, and 1862; Chateau Margaux of 1858; Burgundy, Hermitage, Vino Orloroso, Madeira, Hock, Sauterne, Muscatel, Marachino, Noyeau, &c.
