Oshoffa/Oschoffa
The correct spelling is Oschoffa. "Oshoffa" became common due to the pastor's relocation from francophone Benin to the anglophone Nigeria. He himself might not have been so accurate about that question as he was reported to be illiterate or semi-literate. Nevertheless I suggest to transfer the article to Oschoffa. - sorry for late reply.... I did reply but must have failed to save it. I looked back at all the cele church web sites and they all say oshoffa. There is one encyclopedia that uses Oschoffa, do you have a source for why "osc" is correct? (It could be that there is no correct spelling - as there is with many words that have to be translated from a non latin based script) Victuallers (talk) 16:40, 7 March 2010 (UTC)
- Maybe there isn't. Anyhow the francophones seem to prefer "osc" They are just not so present in Internet (and some even use "os"). I just believe the spelling Afe Adogame uses is the correct one. He has written something about the spelling in Celestial Church of Christ: The Politics Of Cultural Identity In A West African Prophetic-charismatic Movement, Frankfurt a.M. 1999. Unfortunately I have no copy at hand. Give me time. :) (JohSt (talk) 17:28, 8 March 2010 (UTC))
