Flournoy surname
Saw this article on the copy-editors page and as one with blood from the Kanawha, a neat little article. I often contribute to old sports articles, such as Peggy Flournoy, whose name I often misspell. So it's a French name? Would make you think a Huguenot connection. - Cake, it's great to know of another editor with West Virginia connections. Flournoy is indeed a French name, and was also spelled as Flournois and Flourney, and they were descended from Huguenots. You'll notice that many of the Flounoys became Presbyterian, which was another Calvinist or Reformed faith. I look forward to writing a few more articles detailing the Flournoys, so stay tuned! -- West Virginian (talk) 07:55, 7 September 2015 (UTC)
