Iron bottoms

I do not think doubling output can be quite right and I have changed that. The source that I have added says that at its worst stage 40 cwt (2 tons) of pig iron were needed for a ton of bar iron. A good yield would be perhaps 26 cwt pig iron per ton bar iron, which is rather less than double. Peterkingiron (talk) 16:54, 8 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
