Cover song and singles

[edit]

The cover song and singles section are moving to the Sammi Cheng discography. That page was created due to the long list of albums. The cover song and singles are not more notable than the albums, and make the article size just as long. Benjwong (talk) 03:02, 13 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The reason why I deleted it

[edit]

In the 1990s, another female star, Faye Wong was one of her main rivals.[1] When they were on stage together, they would be cold to one another. The rivalry was confirmed in the 1999 TVB music award night. Both Wong and Cheng were arranged to sit next to each other backstage.[1] Cheng avoided Wong by repeatedly going off stage to fix her make-up. In addition, her fans were angry and hissed at Faye Wong when she went on stage to receive an award.[1] Wong herself has insisted that the rivalry wasn't true, and that she was friendly toward Cheng.[2]

These gossips and bad news don't need to be mentioned, as what reporters said may not necessarily be true. Moreover, this is an introduction to Sammi Cheng's Wikipedia entry, and there's no need to involve other female singers. It seems like a fan of a certain female singer is using these negative news to damage Sammi Cheng's reputation. Sammi Cheng is the best-selling female singer, and her album 'Feel So Good' is the best-selling among female singers in 1998 , with Billboard revealing sales of over 100,000,Therefore, there are no rivals. We are not here to second-guess the reporters about what is true. If a media source is considered reliable, then the facts in the source can be repeated for the Wikipedia reader. The rivalry was published in the media, which means it is part of the literature on the topic.
The introduction to Cheng is the lead section: the top three paragraphs. The rivalry does not appear here, so your concern is misplaced. The rivalry is instead discussed down in the article body where it belongs. Binksternet (talk) 14:29, 4 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
