Samanda Whistle for a Hottie
[edit]When did it come out I not seen it in the shops. A Candela (talk) 18:56, 20 January 2009 (UTC)
- I don't think it has come out, some people have just said it has, but I don't think it has! Jonni Boi 10:46, 21 March 2009 (UTC)

Perhaps this should be included in the article?
"We're supporting this campaign because Tibet needs to be freed from a country that tries to mask its human rights violations! Of course the two sides must meet to sort the problems, but global people power is needed to draw attention to the issues in Tibet. Everyone should join the T for Tibet campaign." - Samantha and Amanda Marchant --Platinum inc (talk) 21:05, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
- We should include it in the article! I think. Jonni_Boi (Talk) 12:08, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
Requested move
[edit]- The following discussion is an archived discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the move request was not moved. Article describes their group or duo, not themselves personally. Therefore, no move required. Malinaccier (talk) 18:02, 18 July 2009 (UTC)
Samanda → Sam and Amanda Marchant — Relisting to gain more input. Jafeluv (talk) 18:32, 11 July 2009 (UTC)
They have always been known as Sam and Amanda, even at their time in the house, the nickname was given to them by the press and is not used often other than their brief but minor pop career. Donnie Park (talk) 11:27, 3 July 2009 (UTC)
- Weak oppose Packaging for the singles appears to use "Samanda" so I assume that is the official name for the group. Aubergine (talk) 03:29, 10 July 2009 (UTC)
- Oppose per Aubergine. See here for detailed outline of naming conventions in cases like these. — \`CRAZY`(lN)`SANE`/ (talk • contribs) 08:35, 12 July 2009 (UTC)
- Comment to both oppose: I would like to point out 1) they are not a group, more like a pop duo of a one-hit wonder with a minor shortlived career. With the naming convention, you can say the same for a lot of singers. 2) though nicknamed by the press, that nickname was not always used by them, neither it was used at all in the Big Brother house or the general public. The press also called them the "Big Brother Twins", which is used by the general public more than Samanda; therefore they had more than one nicknames...also give me an example of a member of the general public who calls them "Samanda"...9 out of 10 time, they will call them "the twins from Big Brother". 3) they were primarily known as reality TV contestants more than they were pop stars, the link provided by CIS are lists of musicians who were known primarily as their stagenames and Samanda was not always known as that. Donnie Park (talk) 23:44, 12 July 2009 (UTC)
- Comment. The impression I got from the article (and a very quick Google search) is that they are pop duo, albeit not an especially successful one. Would they even be notable and deserving of a Wikipedia page as reality television contestants? Aubergine (talk) 17:41, 14 July 2009 (UTC)
- Comment. They are not notable as a pop-duo itself, but they fit into the profile of reality TV contestants and celebrities who have released a novelty record. They only qualify for an article because of a Wikipedia "loophole" states that any one hit wonder, whose highest chart entry was 200 in the Newcastle-under-Lyme music chart, is entitled for an article, but to be bluntfully honest, just like what everybody else thinks, reality TV is what they are mainly notable for, just ask anybody, even to those living in Stoke-on-Trent will tell you that. Donnie Park (talk) 13:44, 15 July 2009 (UTC)
- Comment. If you really don't think they are notable as a pop duo then maybe the content here should just be merged into the article with other Big Brother contestants. Any rule here can be ignored, and just because a subject might be notable enough to have an article, it doesn't mean there has to be one if the information would be better placed elsewhere. I'd probably support a merge and delete argument if this went to AFD. Aubergine (talk) 22:52, 15 July 2009 (UTC)
- Oppose - the name used for the single seems to be a sensible term rather than the awkward use of both names in the article title. What seems like their "official" website is at "samandathetwins.com", so it is a term they appear to be happy with as well. - fchd (talk) 19:02, 16 July 2009 (UTC)
