DOB for Sam Harris (singer)
[edit]I have recently received the follow email:
- Hello
- Please refrain from further edits on the singer Sam Harris. Your primary interest is the author, not the singer, so please focus on him.
- We are aware of the ERROR on IMDB as it is conflicting with the Jason Ritter profile. Not that it is any of your concern, but IMDB is not always accurate, and wikipedia is hardly ever accurate.
- We had put a very elaborate page on wiki full of information, photos, and extensive history, and some wikitroll removed it all. Even though we stated to contact SamHarris.com before editing.
- Therefore, we will give only basic information. We are now going to alert about 3000 Sam Harris fans on how to edit the wiki page, so, since you are not one, please let it be.
- Thank you very much!
- SamHarris.com
- PS: I do not have time for replies, so please do not.
As I have been instructed not to reply, I thought I would do so here instead. I would just like to make the following points:
- The best way to progress articles on Wikipedia is via open and accountable editing, and via open and accountable discussion on the relevant talk pages. The IMDb reference may be inaccurate for all I know, but it is a considerable improvement upon an anonymous Wikipedia edit. I have now removed the disputed date entirely.
- Please do not tell me which articles I may edit. Believe it or not, I have an interest in the overall accuracy of Wikipedia.
- The best Wikipedia editors are not those who sneer at its inaccuracies, but those who constructively engage in its improvement. Please obtain an account and come on board.

- Did that Jackass just say IMDb is more accurate than Wikipedia? Dude, Larry, how the fuck can you put up with a retard like this? He doesn't deserve to register.
- Now, okay. Which was the first site to report that Venom was not only in Spider-Man 3, but which non-mainstream continuity elemants would be applied to the character? As I recall, the most IMDb did was build up a retardedly long abd inaccurate trivia list...oh! And list Aunt May as Carnage. ACS (Wikipedian); Talk to the Ace. See what I've edited. 15:48, 25 September 2006 (UTC)
- Well I know, but I thought we were supposed to feign politeness. Laurence Boyce 17:07, 25 September 2006 (UTC)
