[edit]Who is Robert Westenberg - was he the other man who plotted to rob the bank with Naturile and Wojtowicz? In the section Standoff with the police, it says: He was the only one of the robbers, Wojtowicz and Westerberg, that had a previous criminal record and was known to police. What does that mean? If it means that Wojtowicz and Westerberg had no convictions, then the grammar of that sentence needs to be corrected. F W Nietzsche (talk) 16:25, 27 December 2008 (UTC)
No record of Johns feelings about Salvatore's death - how can this be right? Cleary if anyone reads the ejumpcut.org article at the bottom of the page, written by John Wojtowicz himself, while in prison, you can obviously tell he feels quite emotional about it and betrayed by the writers of Dog Day Afternoon for their twisted portrayal of the events as seen in the movie. The third robber: Robert or Arthur Westenberg?
[edit]I was a curious as to what happened with the third robber and realized it's possible his name was changed by a wikivandal.
- 27 December 2008 The original article uses "Robert Westenberg" and is sourced to a book.
- 5 January 2009 Edit to John Wojtowicz article to replace "another man" with "Robert Westenberg."
- 17 February 2009 Anon edit changes one of the instances of "Robert Westenberg" to "Arthur Westenberg."
- 11 February 2009 Edit to John Wojtowicz article to replace "Robert Westenberg" with "Arthur Westenberg."
- 24 September 2009 removes an instance of "Robert" leaving just "Westenberg."
I'm pretty sure the correct name is Robert Westenberg based on these two books.
This IMDB thread post from Sep 24 2009 claims "His name is Robert Westenberg and he served 19 months in prison." It can't be used as a source but I've requested a couple of books from the library to see if they comment on Westenberg. --Marc Kupper|talk 20:45, 18 April 2010 (UTC)
Naturile? Naturale?
[edit]This article is called "Salvatore Naturile", but overwhelmingly refers to him throughout as "Salvatore Naturale". Which is it? Either the text or the title needs changing... Grutness...wha? 09:08, 3 September 2013 (UTC) (funiculi funicula)
- It looks like an old but successful vandalism attempt. I'm going to fix the article according to [1]. -- Serguei Trouchelle 09:16, 8 September 2020 (UTC)
Word choice in Early Life section
[edit]Clearly the Early Life section needs work to bring it up to Wikipedia's content policies. Still, I think it would be preferable to say he was raped while incarcerated as a teenager. However, I am a very infrequent editor here, mostly making minor changes in spelling and grammar. I wanted to make sure I didn't cause any problems or violate any policies with this proposed edit, so I've suggested it here rather than going ahead and making the change in the article.
