Photo
[edit]I think this is a great article but the photo had to go, the fair use claim on that cover can only be used when critical commentary of the book is provided. If a section was added to this article with more specific discussion of the book I could see using the image. Until then it has to go. --Wgfinley 07:11, 28 January 2006 (UTC)
Gang fight is not an attack on innocent teenagers.
[edit]Why have you reverted to an unsourced and highly questionable writing in this article.
Have you read any of it? Have you looked at the sources, or should I say lack of sources?
Agron was a murderer and not a prominant member of society. The leading paragraph says he killed two people in a "Gang fight" How is a gang fight an accurate statement when one is a gang and the other a group of innocent teenagers? (this is plainly stated in this article under "capeman") Please read this and then chime in. The point is, it was a case of mistaken identity. A gang fight is something that requires two gangs fighting. If one gang attacks a group of teenagers (not a gang), then that is not a gang fight... that is a gang attack, jumping or anything BUT a gang fight!
This concept would be similiar to a gun fight, which would require all parties fighting with guns. If one party is shooting at another party with no gun, it cannot be called a gunfight. At least in the world that is fair and impartial. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.32.55.194 (talk) 06:12, 18 December 2011 (UTC)
- You are right, the murders were due to mistaken identity and not a result of a gang fight. On another hand, do you know anything about the teenage gang fights that occurred in New York during the 1950s and 1960s? If so, you would know that before a "rumble" the War Lords of each gang would get together to decide where and when and what weapons to be use in a gang fight. The Mau Maus and the Norsemen used homemade guns called zip-guns. Yes, it was common for Puerto Rican gangs to fight gangs of African-Americans, Irish and Italian gangs. The source clearly states that the Norsemen were Irish-Americans, therefore please refrain from removing it from the article, otherwise it may seem as if Puerto Ricans were only fighting other Puerto Ricans. Personal attacks
[edit]Blah blah blah. I would like to know where all my statements went on this talk page? Who has the right to censor and remove talk and discussion points on this page? I have now censored yours and perhaps that will afford you the opportunity to have soemones shoe put on your foot Santiago User: 184.32.0.60
- User: 184.32.0.60, "personal attacks" [1] are not allowed in Wikipedia, therefore please refrain from doing so and maintain the sense of civility per policy. Now, what exactly are you referrering to? Your comments have not been deleted nor censored. As a matter of fact I have recognized the fact that you were right to some extent. I am no longer interested in discussing the matter with you and if you have any more issues you can direct your concerns to someone else. Tony the Marine (talk) 19:07, 24 December 2011 (UTC)
Merry Christmas to you Tony. Well, something happened to my comments regarding romanticizing this individual subject and his action in regard to this article. They were here prior to your entry on this talk page. I have had this occur to me before and find this rather aggravating when an editor tries to play games with this facet of Wikipedia. Now, as far as personal attacks go, you would indeed know it if I personally attacked you. That I can assure you sir.
Thank you for understanding my POV on this article and other as well, kind sir. As for addressing anything to you, I see no issue with addressing you in a discussion regarding an article we both are interested in. Co-operation is key to working in this forum.
Once again Tony, Merry Christmas to you and your family with best wishes for a happy and healthy New Year. 184.32.55.81 (talk) 05:36, 25 December 2011 (UTC)
- No problem, misunderstandings do happen and are part of life. We can't let our personal emotions take over when addressing an article. For example, even though we (including myself) personally dislike those who take for granted the freedoms and priveliges which our society grants them, we have to stick to what the reliable verifiable sources tell us in accordance to policy. Look, I also wish you and your loved ones a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, take care. . Tony the Marine (talk) 18:57, 25 December 2011 (UTC)
