Grandee
[edit]i love the word myself, but - the purpose of an encyclopaedia article is to inform. does the use of words like this, which is probably unfamiliar to a large segment of the readership,(even of an article on so sophisticated a topic) contribute to that end?Toyokuni3 (talk) 17:31, 14 June 2008 (UTC)
Removing what looks like unverifiable original research
[edit]I don't know who placed the following in this article. It is moving, right now, to this talk page pending verification from reliable secondary sources. At play here is Wikipedia:Blp Wikipedia:No original research Wikipedia:Conflict_of_interest Skywriter (talk) 03:47, 6 January 2010 (UTC)
The Quinn family came from Ireland[citation needed] and are direct descendants of John Quinn, who came over as a stowaway on one of his father's ships, the Falcon in 1632.[citation needed] He was originally headed for Jamestown, but ended up shipwrecked on what is now Kent Island, Maryland.[citation needed] There were only two survivors of the wreck, young John Quinn who was sixteen at the time, and the ship's first mate; they were washed up on an oyster-shell beach.[citation needed] Her mother's family was originally from Wales; the progenitor of the family was Morgan ap William, who was a direct descendant from his fathers line, of Rhodri ap Tewdwr (Rhodri the Great, first king of Wales);[citation needed] he was also styled as King of the Britons[citation needed] in the Annals of Ulster.[citation needed] Morgans father was William ap Yevan of Wales,[citation needed] who married Joan Tudor, who was a first cousin[citation needed] to King Henry VII Tudor of England. The first Williams born in North America was Roger Williams,[citation needed] who was born December 15, 1625 in Old Rappahannock, Virginia;[citation needed] he married Joan Frith[citation needed] of Virginia. Rogers uncle was also Roger Williams, who was the founder Rhode Island.[citation needed]

Religion
[edit]Why is there no mention of Quinn's religion, nor any hint as to why she would make that subject her journalistic specialty? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.13.189.102 (talk) 08:01, 1 March 2010 (UTC)
Feel free to add it if you think it needs to be present. She reveals what she believes in a long, rambling article for which there is a link in this bio. The headline begins something like "What my son taught me..." Skywriter (talk) 19:27, 1 March 2010 (UTC)
