Sally Perdue affair and date discrepancies
[edit]I removed the line "Sally Perdue's claims were discredited [because she said the alleged affair occurred during her divorce in 1983, when she actually started divorce proceedings years later]" I think this statement is an unwarranted judgment and definitely POV. Just because she got the dates wrong doesn't mean there was no affair; for example, she could have gone through marital difficulties in 1983, up to but not including the actual filing of divorce papers. Her faulty memory for dates does not, by itself, invalidate her claim. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Plushpuffin (talk • contribs) 16:45, 21 August 2008 (UTC)
- Agreed. Also this appears to be original research. I can't find any sources pointing out this "discrepancy". JoshuaZ (talk) 21:45, 2 September 2008 (UTC)
Sally Perdue "Revealed" Absolutely Nothing
[edit]To say that she "revealed she had an affair with then-governor Bill Clinton" is a complete lie.YUIP78 (talk) 20:41, 2 September 2008 (UTC)
- Well, it's not a complete lie, since it is sourced from an article in Slate. Do you have references that state otherwise? If the article needs cleaning up, let's do so. Frank | talk 20:44, 2 September 2008 (UTC)
Procedural note
[edit]There is a {{POV}} tag on the "See also" section, as per LessHeard vanU. To quote: "I've templated the See also section, as it is a list of women who have allegedly had affairs with Clinton - giving a WP:COATRACK appearance." This talk page section is to draw notice to the fact in order to generate discussion as to the content's appropriateness. I offer no opinion one way or the other. - A bit of history regarding recent edits to this article is probably in order. I came to the page as part of the animosity being displayed by User:Kevin j, who has since been blocked (along with a couple of socks). Eventually the page had to be protected as well. Before I saw it, it looked like this and I made an attempt to clean it up.
- I generally agree with the coatrack designation and support the idea of someone else coming in and cleaning it up further. (I'd do it but would like to see a different perspective jumping in a bit too, especially given that I did get dragged into the sockdrama a bit.) Frank | talk 22:18, 2 September 2008 (UTC)
- Eh. I've removed the coatrack designation. There's no serious problem here since Perdue's notability, if she is notable, clearly comes from these events. If one thinks she isn't notable then we should have an AfD. JoshuaZ (talk) 22:28, 2 September 2008 (UTC)
- Of course, WP:COATRACK has nothing to do with notability. --Steven J. Anderson (talk) 00:16, 3 September 2008 (UTC)

- I think the coatrack designation applied to defamation of Clinton, not Perdue. The supposed "coatrack" in this case is a place to hang things that impugn Clinton's reputation, rather than Perdue's. Frank | talk 01:13, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
- Ah I see I think. But given that Perdue is notable primarily for her connection to these scandals, how is it a coatrack to list other similar cases? (Actually, looking at how many there are, I'm almost inclined to make a category for women who have claimed to, or have been accused of having sexual relations with Clinton but such a category would probably get CfDed pretty quickly). Miss Arkansas
[edit]Article states it was 1958. I could use some help, as I don't see it here, or here. I want to believe, but something ain't right, and it certainly could be me. XF Law (talk) 11:18, 11 September 2008 (UTC)
- Good question. I don't have any info one way or the other, but Miller could have been her maiden name. Frank | talk 11:24, 11 September 2008 (UTC)
- According to http://209.157.64.200/focus/f-news/1518060/posts, you are correct. Thinking like a married person...one of these days I shall consider it. Good catch. XF Law (talk) 11:29, 11 September 2008 (UTC)
- I'm not 100% convinced yet; that link (which I had found too) doesn't exactly smack of WP:RS... Frank | talk 11:45, 11 September 2008 (UTC)
- Not sure how useful this is; seems reliable but not widely reported, which makes it questionable to me. Frank | talk 11:39, 11 September 2008 (UTC)
- And there's this, naming her as "Sally Miller Perdue". Frank | talk 11:42, 11 September 2008 (UTC)

[edit]This is national news, in the current election cycle.
Headline-1: ‘IF I DIE BY COMMITTING SUICIDE, DON’T BELIEVE IT’: BILL’S FORMER MISTRESS FEARS HILLARY’S WRATH
- www.infowarscom/if-i-die-by-committing-suicide-dont-believe-it-bills-former-mistress-fears-hillarys-wrath/ [unreliable fringe source?]
QUOTE: "One of President Bill Clinton’s former mistresses fears the Clinton campaign could attempt to assassinate her and stage it to appear as a suicide. On Saturday, author and former Miss Arkansas Sally Miller, also known as Myra Belle “Sally” Miller or Sally Perdue, posted a message alerting friends that she fears for her life. “In this election year, if you read I died….by committing suicide….don’t believe it,” Miller told friends via a Facebook post. The former beauty queen claims she’s been familiar with the Clinton’s intimidation tactics since the 90s, during which she was physically threatened by a Clinton operative. “It’s been well established, but underreported by American media, that Hillary Clinton unleashed her operatives, including Ron Tucker, to threaten Miller beginning in 1992,” reports Jack Dennis for Examiner.com. “Soon after she began talking to the press during the first year of Bill Clinton’s presidency, at a meeting in a restaurant with Tucker, Miller was told to be a ‘good little girl’ and was offered a federal job. If she didn’t accept the offer, ‘then they knew if I went jogging by myself and couldn’t guarantee what would happen to my pretty little legs,’ Miller recalled. ‘Things just wouldn’t be so fun for me anymore. Life would get hard.’” According to Miller’s latest Facebook post, she believes she’s being monitored while at her home and followed when she visits the park.
