Speedy deletion nomination of Sally Amaki
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Sally Amaki requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, a group of people, an individual animal, an organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content, or an organized event, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. lullabying (talk) 04:30, 12 February 2018 (UTC)
Japanese transcriptions
[edit]Instead of creating any sort of edit war, I'm just going to toss this here. @Lullabying, I udnerstand your reasoning for using the person template as she's also an active voice actress, but is there a particular reason you keep removing the name trascriptions? I don't see how other Japanese actors/actresses lacking it has to do with this one, as there are many Japan-related pages such as Osaka that contain it, as well as other entertainers with Asian-language native names who use it such as G-Dragon. I don't exactly see a reason not to have it. DanielleTH (Say hi!) 21:00, 25 September 2018 (UTC)
- @DanielleTH: In my opinion, the nihongo templates already cover it well, but I actually cannot tell you the answer because the Japanese articles have been largely inconsistent as a whole in general. I suggest you bring this up to Wikipedia:WikiProject Japan and Wikipedia:WikiProject Anime and manga and let me know what they tell you. lullabying (talk) 21:59, 25 September 2018 (UTC)
Regarding age and birthday
[edit]Up until now I've been going off the reference included with her current birthday which stated Amaki's age as 20 years in 2020, which would put her birthday as April 26, 2000. But the recent edits and links from andyIjd make a fair point. That article refers to a "Sally Goda" which I'm not sure is the same as Sally Amaki, but it's entirely possible that Amaki is an assumed name, she wouldn't be the first idol to do so. It's well-sourced that Amaki came to Japan in 2016, if she was born in 2000, that would mean she moved at the age of 16, which is doubtful. So perhaps it's better to remove her year of birth from the article all-together, seeing as getting a proper source is difficult. DragonFury (talk) 09:41, 2 March 2023 (UTC)
- The school article used as a source does not indicate that the person mentioned is actually Amaki, and in some way may be WP:BLPPRIVACY. It is not uncommon for celebrities to use false birthdays and names. We can use the previous source so far unless other public sources state otherwise. lullabying (talk) 02:31, 3 March 2023 (UTC)
