[edit]Who was Valide Sultan between Saliha and Şehsuvar? There's a 15 year long gap, and it's said by from example A.H. deGroot, that Valide Sultan took part in removing İvaz Mehmed Pasha from his office as the grand vizier in June 1740. Saliha died in 1739, and Şehsuvar is said to be Valide Sultan from december 1754. So, there has to be one more in between. --Ukas (talk) 21:32, 22 August 2017 (UTC)
- @Ukas: @Ukas: There was no Valide in these period. The Valide Sultan was the mother of the reigning sultan. When she died, before or during her son's reign, there was no Valide until a sultan whose mother was still alive ascended the throne. Sira Aspera (talk) 22:23, 17 December 2022 (UTC)
