Disambig
[edit]This should be made a disambiguation page there is a Salesian College in Battersea, London, Farnborough in Hampshire, Chertsey in Surrey, Bolton, Bootle and probably a few others in the UK that I'm not aware of. There are others in the far east and Africa too. Jooler 23:01, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

Cleanup
[edit]This article is a mess. Is it about one college, two particular colleges or all the Salesian colleges in an "amazing variety of locations"? --The very model of a minor general 17:09, 12 May 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Salesian College Crest.jpg
[edit]Image:Salesian College Crest.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

WikiProject class rating
[edit]This article was automatically assessed because at least one WikiProject had rated the article as start, and the rating on other projects was brought up to start class. BetacommandBot 10:33, 10 November 2007 (UTC)
Houses
[edit]The article should contain content that is encyclopaedic, and thus should reference areas that are distinctive or notable. To this extent, that Salesian has houses with primary colours who compete against each other on a points-based system is identical to almost every other similar school in Australia. It adds nothing to a reader's understanding of the school to know that one house is red and another is blue. Neither does it to know that House A won the comp this year and House B the next. You wouldn't even expect to read this material in the school's website and it has no place here. It is by no reasonable measure "notable" content so in my opinion shouldn't be reinstated. Murtoa (talk) 22:03, 27 October 2008 (UTC)
- Ok that's fine, but there should be at least something that mentions that the school has a house system, even if it's just a sentence. jackelfive (talk) 04:47, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
- Agreed... and there are two mentions at present - one in the History section, one on its own - possibly one too many... Murtoa (talk) 05:19, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
History
[edit]This section is crying out for improvement. At present it's a chronological list dominated by buildings being erected. Is the history of this school not shaped by more than building projects? A good execution would be to eliminate the by-dates style and introduce some encyclopaedic content that embraced more than building works. Murtoa (talk) 05:52, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
- One day I will get around to doing that and make it into paragraphs. You feel free to do that if you want. Most of the info is on the History page on the Salesian website (I think it is sourced in the history section). jackelfive (talk) 06:05, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
