Six sources to establish the game? Swag. I'll take a look at this. Tezero (talk) 00:12, 23 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • "The game's story follows that of the console game, where the player-character had returned to the city of Stilwater following a bid in prison and must restore the atrophied influence of their gang,[1] the Saints.[2]" - Confusing; does the mobile version's story come after the console version's, or is it the same? Also, the tenses in this sentence are screwy.
  • Either way, I think the story is deserving of more detail than one sentence.
  • "there are some sniper sequences" - Vague; is the player sniping or being sniped? And can you elaborate on this game mode a bit? When do they show up within the game, for example?
  • Try to pick "the player" or "players" and stick to it.
  • Why is the tutorial necessary to explain?
  • "The game addressed its mobile tie-in predecessor's problems of small sprites and too much traffic, and they additionally changed the perspective from directly overhead to a slight angle" - Confusing; is "the game" referring to the console version? If so, state this explicitly, since "the game" is used in the preceding sentence in an ostensible reference to the mobile version.
  • Reception isn't very well-organized. There's one large paragraph about the confines of the mobile platform, poor controls, and driving; one about the artificial intelligence, story, and closeness to American Gangster; and one that's again about the confines of the mobile platform. I just don't see any rhyme or reason to it.
  • The screenshot doesn't look low-res; in fact, it looks as high in res as would be possible for a mobile phone. It's also displayed rather large onscreen.

Thanks for the review—I'm going to work on this next weekend, if that's okay czar  15:19, 23 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
That's fine. I'll try to check back then even if Underground gets reviewed earlier. Tezero (talk) 15:57, 23 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I can help fix the problems. I just fixed the player/players issues and I'm reworking the reception tab. Is that ok with you guys if I help? Tezero URDNEXT (talk) 00:07, 25 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I just tagged the image for reduction, a bot should fix the size in 24 hours. URDNEXT (talk) 00:15, 25 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I don't care who fixes it. Come along, bot! Tezero (talk) 00:17, 25 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Then you're gonna love me. I just adjusted the size of the pic on the article too, so it looks less huge (if there's such a term for that). We're making some progress here, gentleman. URDNEXT (talk) 00:20, 25 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
state this explicitly - What does this mean? If the development section is about the mobile game, then why would it talk about the console version? It's logical that the section is adressing the mobile game since, heh, it's about the mobile game. Plus, the fact that no developers wants to fix its mobile tie-in's problems on a console game. I don't get it. Tezero URDNEXT (talk) 00:44, 25 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@URDNEXT: Well, I wasn't sure whether "mobile tie-in predecessor" was referring to the previous mobile Saints Row game or the mobile version of Saints Row 2, which presumably came out before the console version. And it's possible for a developer to want to fix mobile games' problems on their console versions if those problems aren't tied to the limited hardware. Tezero (talk) 23:14, 29 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Lead section is cleaner now. At least for the amount of sources the game has... URDNEXT (talk) 02:10, 25 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Low res means that the W x H = < 100,000, so the image is fine—the bot is not going to do anything to it. I will handle the rest over the weekend when I have time czar  02:20, 25 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
You sure? I can do this. czar  URDNEXT (talk) 02:21, 25 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I had written the article and started the review, so yeah, but it is the encyclopedia anyone can edit czar  02:26, 25 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
C'mon, let me help. I don't have work tomorrow! So I'm basically free the while day to do this. czar  URDNEXT (talk) 02:28, 25 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I meant to imply that you don't need my permission. I'll note, though, that there are plenty of other Saints Row articles that actually need the attention. czar  02:32, 25 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I prefer this one since it's short. I'm busy in a big article (Sleeping Dogs), so I'm trying to not overtask myself. By the way, how does the article look now? (Saints Row 2) URDNEXT (talk) 02:34, 25 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
czar  Why don't we just team-up? URDNEXT (talk) 02:36, 25 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
This article was more or less done save for finishing touches. If you want to collaborate on the main Saints Row 2, I had started working on that with CR4ZE a while back. We can plan on its talk page. (I'll also have a few new Saints Row GANs later this week. czar  02:39, 25 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
So, I'm talking about finishing it. The mobile page. URDNEXT (talk) 02:42, 25 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I gave you my thoughts on that, so nothing new to add there. I wanted to wait until the weekend to look it over. What you choose to do now or then is your prerogative czar  02:49, 25 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
czar  Ok, man. I'll leave it to you then. I just wanted to make your job easier since you are doing so many GANs. URDNEXT (talk) 02:54, 25 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@Tezero, all right—think I got all of it. Want to take a look? There isn't more to the parts where you were possibly interested in more (either in the sources or actuality). The player vs. players isn't wrong, no? The tutorial is a pertinent example of gameplay. The reception ¶s aren't organized by specific aspects of the game—they're chains of things the critics felt were important. The image is automatically resized by the "thumb" param, so I'm not sure it needs to be made smaller, and I explained my low-res rationale above czar  21:41, 29 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@Czar: I don't see why the tutorial's any more relevant here than in any other game, and there's stuff to be written about the tutorials in any games that have them, but whatever; I'm not holding this up for that. The article passes; nice work. Tezero (talk) 23:14, 29 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
