The result of the move request was: no consensus. In order to form a proper consensus at a future RM, it is likely that evidence other than the abbey's website would be helpful. Evidence of the common name, not the "official" one, is necessary to make a firm determination. Xoloz (talk) 22:02, 9 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Saint Benedict Abbey, QuebecSaint-Benoît-du-Lac Abbey – Saint-Benoît-du-Lac is the name of the Abbey. Saint Benedict is not. Their website:http://www.st-benoit-du-lac.com/, indicates so. Jonathan Ng 吳家明 20:58, 19 May 2014 (UTC)

  • Oppose the photo clearly says "Abbaye Saint-Benoit, fondee en 1912", nothing "of the lake" indicated. So I would say the short form is used. NOTE to those who do not know French, Beno(i/î)t == Benedict ; Abbaye is French for abbey -- 65.94.171.126 (talk) 05:08, 20 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. No evidence that the proposed name (from the website) is widely used, and it seems unlikely, it's ugly, cumbersome, and neither good English nor good French. Andrewa (talk) 18:38, 27 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • I would like to further note that the municipality that comprises solely the abbey is called Saint-Benoît-du-Lac by both the provincial and federal governments in census information. Their own website has 'Saint-Benoît-du-Lac' written everywhere. Jonathan Ng 吳家明 05:50, 2 June 2014 (UTC)
