Article title seems a bit premature

[edit]

Japanese authorities have not yet confirmed what exactly was thrown, but the reliable sources given thus far describe it as a smoke bomb. The Japanese article is titled 雑賀崎漁港発煙筒投下事件 – describing it as a "smoke bomb throwing incident". No motive is known yet, and the only sentence in this article speaking to this vaguely is "A man was arrested at the scene after throwing the smoke bomb on suspicions of 'obstruction of business'." The only person calling this an attempted assassination is the editor who created this article immediately after the first set of unclear reports came out. Yue🌙 08:37, 15 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Saikazaki bombing → ? – The current "Saikazaki bombing" does noit show the most important aspect of an assassination attempt of Prime Minister Fumio Kishida ―― Phoenix7777 (talk) 11:55, 22 August 2023 (UTC) See other language titles:[reply]

Support move to Attempted assassination of Fumio Kishida. Seems a bit more recognizable and natural than naming it after the location. — Red-tailed hawk (nest) 04:06, 30 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the move request was: no consensus. Participants were split on whether the move would be an improvement; neither side appears to be stronger than the other in terms of policy. (closed by non-admin page mover) ModernDayTrilobite (talkcontribs) 14:05, 31 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Attempted assassination of Fumio KishidaAttack on Fumio Kishida – Moving the article to the current title was jumping to ungrounded conclusions, and as such shouldn't happen here. The requested title was the one associated with the article during 4 months the previous year. Now it is a redirect page with more edits in the history, so I cannot move it back. More description of the reason behind the move here requested was done on the talk page by the user User:Yue IHaveBecauseOfLocks (talk) 14:33, 15 May 2024 (UTC) This is a contested technical request (permalink).
