[edit]Saifur rahman is the strategist for the economy of bangladesh. His bold steps enabled Bangladesh to raise Tax GDP ratio to reasonable level through introduction of VAT. Bangladesh is the first SAARC country that adopted VAT being followed by other countries. Floating currency system amid fear that Taka will be significantly depriciated was introduced with out come taht Taka maintained strong stability against Dollar. Saifur stewards the economy in such a skill that the country could maitain a strong macro-economic balance over the years. Even the acrh rival Awami League government also maintained the eonomic strategy Saifur introduced. Bangladesh economy, its industrial sector, the private sector economic growth in the country, the protection of economic interest against international business propositions all those issues were strongly handled by Saifur. The stock market in Bangladesh got realy deelopment during his two tenures as Finance Minister. The privatization of state owned enterprises through stock exchanges (Direct Listing) was possible only bcause of very strong supportive pressure fro Saifure. thus this man can be considered as the most successful economic leader - the champion of one of the poorest country of the to be transformed into the 46th biggest economy of the world. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.112.196.90 (talk) 16:34, 6 September 2009 (UTC)
