Dab or hard redirect?

[edit]

This page has been changed several times (by one editor) into a hard-redirect pointing to the Polish town. The consensus opinion, though, based on how many other editors are changing it back to a dab page, seems to be that this should be a disambiguation page. Please don't change it to a hard redirect again without first achieving proof of a different consensus here on the talk page. --Atlant 13:23, 5 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Do you need another proof? No pages linking here refer to anything other than the Polish city. --Ghirla -трёп- 13:43, 5 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I left here a notice concerning systemic bias developments on this page. --Ghirla -трёп- 13:54, 5 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
No pages are supposed to link here -- this is a disambiguation page.
It was not a disambiguation page until yesterday, when you arbitrarily moved the page here. I have to investigate how it was done. If there were some cases of administrative abuse (deletion of redirects in avoidance of WP:RFD and WP:RM), I will rise the issue on WP:ANI. Coupled with gratuitous threats against opponents, this will qualify as disruption. --Ghirla -трёп- 15:48, 5 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Also, "electioneering" is generally frowned upon here at Wikipedia; see Wikipedia:Spam#Canvassing For that reason, I probably won't run off to, say, the Carl Sagan article and ask them all to support my view of things. --Atlant 14:24, 5 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I know what is frowned upon in this project better than most. Why don't you prod WP:RFC, as it qualifies as spam according to your self-imposed principles. I don't know whether it's insufficient experience in the project or something else that dictates your incivil approach, but I don't see any point in proceeding with this non-profitable discussion any further. Good bye, Ghirla -трёп- 15:41, 5 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

"Sagan" as name of Indian origin

[edit]

Moved this here to Talk: "The name Sagan comes from the Indian origin. In Sanskrit The meaning of the name Sagan is: Lord Shiva."
This may very well be true for some uses of the name, however:

  • (A) Needs a cite.
  • (B) I rather doubt that this applies to the name "Sagan" borne by Europeans and their North American descendents.
  • (C) Which Indian origin? "Individual mother tongues in India number several hundred" -- Languages of India
