Reclassified as a start

[edit]

I have reclassified as a start as the article is more developed. There is even a separate filmography. Capitalistroadster (talk) 08:54, 16 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Very US-biased

[edit]

This article is very lopsided. He was a British actor, and yet it puts enormous importance on his US career, and very little on his UK one: timewise, he spent far, far longer in the UK than the US.

Also, his 35 year marriage to Jennifer Sorrell gets barely a mention, whereas his short marriage to Madhur Jaffrey is disproportionately represented. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.157.53.239 (talk) 20:23, 25 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Please change the text "Saeed Jaffrey OBE (Urdu, Punjabi:سعید جعفری), (8 January 1929 – 15 November 2015) was a British Indian actor" to "Saeed Jaffrey, OBE (Urdu, Punjabi:سعید جعفری), (8 January 1929 – 15 November 2015) was an Indian-born English actor". ---- 213.205.251.247 (talk) 09:30, 6 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Not done for now: You (I assume) had a similar request about a week ago. Why? Izno (talk) 12:23, 6 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I initially thought that it should say "Indian-British" because he worked in the UK and India, but I have now realised that while he was originally from India, he lived in England and presumably took British citizenship, hence the OBE. I don't think that "British Indian" is an accurate description as it could suggest that he was British-born and of Indian descent. I hope this explains my most recent edit request and I would appreciate if it was added to the page. Thank you. 17:32, 6 July 2017 (UTC)

British Indian is the correct term per Wikipedia's British Indian. includes people born in the UK who are of Indian descent, and Indian-born people who have migrated to the UK--regentspark (comment) 16:30, 9 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Personal Life must be re-done

[edit]

Entire sentences from the Personal Life section are simply lifted verbatim from Early Life & Education. And there is far too much repetition. Can we do something about this? 86.159.237.148 (talk) 17:28, 5 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
