Merge
[edit]This article survived afd, but I feel that a merge is in order. Saeed was not a notable journalist (in fact, i think it says he was just a driver), and his unfortunate demise, which is already covered in July 12, 2007 Baghdad airstrike is the only thing he is notable for. So according to WP:ONEVENT, this should be merged (or simply redirectd) to that page. Cathardic (talk) 22:28, 14 April 2010 (UTC)
On their way to an insurgency photo staging?
[edit]If you look at the images that the NY Times published photographed by Eldin, you see that some of them are clearly staged. So it seems they were on their way to another staging. Why else would he pear over corner with the camera (mistaken for RPG).
I'm sure the images on their cameras would show what they were up to, and who the people were, especially the two military guys, the one with the real RPG and the guy with the AK-47... Did anyone ever request to see the images from Eldeen's camera, from the US military? פשוט pashute ♫ (talk) 10:28, 4 March 2013 (UTC)
- Hi פשוט pashute ♫. Sure or not sure, these kinds of statements must be verifiable (WP:V), and therefore referenced with inline citations to reliable sources (WP:RS). The text you recently added about people in the crowd being armed, and casting doubt on the van driver's explanation of his route, is not supported by the sources given (The New York Times, the Guardian and The Washington Post). If you feel this is incorrect, please provide the text from those sources that you are referring to, and we can discuss it here. I may have missed those sections of the articles important here. Thanks. -Darouet (talk) 17:08, 4 March 2013 (UTC)
Hey Darouet , I'm not sure if there's a article that points it out but FULL 17:46 minute wikileaks video shows them The two at the bottom are the photogs per wikileaks. Three of the 4 on top are carrying AK-47's. The fourth is carrying an RPG that gets clearer a few seconds later.

I cannot link the video here but at 3:45 there's a clear view of the RPG.
Wikileaks is the source of those sources. M2bandit (talk) 00:58, 12 January 2017 (UTC)
Cause of Death
[edit]Saeed's cause of death was not "Armor piercing shells" They were M789 HEDP rounds Which explode on impact. However there's no explicit evidence to specify any type, the only purpose to would be to incite emotion. I'm not sure what the proper Wikipedia etiquette is for "cause of death" I do see generic "war" is a fairly commonly used one. Hopefully someone more familiar with wikipedia will fix it if not I'll come back and do it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by M2bandit (talk • contribs) 00:50, 12 January 2017 (UTC)
