Needs to split

[edit]

This article currently awkwardly welds together a disambiguation page with detailed discussion of an ancient goddess... AnonMoos 17:13, 20 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I agree it should be split; I have temporarily moved the disambiguation to the top of the page, but a permanent split is preferable 75.66.61.154 14:47, 2 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Moved the goddess part to Habrina --Najoj 12:59, 5 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding the entry Sabrina (actress)

[edit]

This doesn't need to be here as the Sabrina (given name) page already lists it. Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 17:41, 19 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes it does, because it is a possible meaning of the word Sabrina used on its own. See MOS:DABSUR. - Fayenatic (talk) 17:45, 19 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think I've overlooked anything on MOS:DABSUR. What exactly did you want me to read? Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 17:54, 19 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think I agree with Fayenatic here. Anyone coming here actually looking for Sabrina, the actress, should find her here without having to search further at the given name page. The given name page is fine for individuals that have Sabrina as a first name, but for someone known only as Sabrina....the entry should be here on the disambiguation page. Exactly. People known by a single name may appear (generally, I think, should appear) on both the disambiguation page for that name, and the article on the name. - Fayenatic (talk) 19:31, 19 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The actress/model was known primarily by her first only name. As such, she needs to be disambiguated on this page. H.G. 07:14, 20 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If the actress should be here, then the Portuguese artist needs to be here too. The problem with the given name page is that it is, indeed, a page about the given name, rather than a dab page for people with that name. Having started off thinking that both these should only be on the given name page, since Sabrina is certainly their given name, I now tend to think that they ought to be here on the dab page, since "Sabrina" is all that anyone would search on when looking for them, and that person shouldn't have to read through a chunk of etymology of the name before finding links to these two people. People who have Sabrina as a given name but also have a surname should not be on this page (whether real or fictional), but need to be on the Sabrina (given name) page.
