According to the French Wikipedia's article (which holds the most information about this person), Chengriha has joined the ALN but did not participate in the Algerian War, rather he was involved in the Arab–Israeli conflicts and Algerian-Moroccan battles, in addition to be affiliated with the Algerian Civil War.

I removed the unreliable source that was used on this article and added sourced content. The French wiki has its uses, but unfortunately, they don't seem to care as much as we do about the quality of the sources and what should and shouldn't be added to articles (especially about living people).
