Medical Terms

[edit]

The article says: Stat, as a medical abbreviation meaning "spontaneously timed accidental trauma". But my web search revealed only sources which just cite the wp entry, or forum messages whose reliability is questionable. I intend to delete the entry if noone objects. (I have deleted the other, more dubious entry). --Mopskatze (talk) 00:57, 5 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've deleted it. I guess it's a backronym without any official status. If it's in widespread use, it can be re-entered, but needs to be described as such. --Mopskatze (talk) 06:07, 9 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The backronym is back. This time claiming to mean "Short Turn Around Time." Also there is some WP:Patent nonsense claiming that it means "Star (Wars) The Aboriginal Trilogy". I think the solution is to list it in the non-acronym part with a reference to it deriving from Latin "statim."--Larrybob (talk) 20:42, 19 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
