Conflicting end of RN Service
[edit]What I think although I can't find refs to prove it is that in June 1940 with the need for the auxiliary minelayers over she was used as a "troopship" on the Stranraer - Larne ferry run as HMS Shepperton. This wasn't really a RN responsibility so when in May 1941 she was damaged in the air raid at Belfast the RN declared her a CTL (which she plainly wasn't as repairs only took 3 weeks) and transferred her to the MOWT where she became SS Shepperton Ferry again.
