This article has been checked against the following criteria for B-class status:
This initial version is almost entirely based on The Ships List, which has obvious problems with its time line. Different pages on the Ship List have her built in 1890, 1891, and 1892. 1890 seems the most likely, so I went with that.
More puzzling is the timeline for her end. The Ships List has her seized in 1917 when the USA entered the war, and sunk on 3-Feb-1918. This would make eminent sense except for the inconvenient fact that she was sunk on 3-Feb-1917, before the USA entered the war, and in fact she was the first of seven USAn ships whose sinking was a major cause of the USA entering the war. So when was she seized, and why? Or if she wasn't seized, when and why did she become American and change her name? I don't know the answers to any of these questions, and would like to know.
