This article has many issues. The narrative and references have not been sufficiently researched, and appear to be generic secondary sources. All the references in the source list are either broken links or advertising, all retrieved on 6 January 2010. Perhaps somebody with an interest may wish to research it further?. The "City of Adelaide" was a clipper, which has recently been transported to Australia for restoration. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/City_of_Adelaide_(1864) http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2886915/Last-journey-historic-City-Adelaide-clipper-ship-told-new-book.html https://www.cityofadelaide.org.au/
This article seems to refer to another ship, perhaps named "Adelaide", but records of her name seem allegorical and confused. https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Adelaide_ship.jpg There are many photos online of this wreck, so it definitely exists, but its identity remains unclear. The sources in the various articles about the wreck in Cockle Bay, are mostly secondary and circular, inasmuch as they seem to have the same wording. Sveral sources quote "...according to James Porter's Magnetic Island", suggesting the origins of the ship are from hearsay and perhaps romanticised to attract tourists. --Pdadme (talk) 10:46, 16 February 2018 (UTC)
