There is a photo of my great grandfather and some of the crew in Hong Kong 1891 in wikicommons, FYI, suspect one other member also deserted with GGF in San Francisco. — Preceding unsigned comment added by FAHansson (talk • contribs) 20:14, 1 September 2018 (UTC)

This article is in great shape. A few comments/queries:
- SMS is not explained
- Added a note
- flush-deck is not explained
- Added a line
- in the lead, suggest "the 1813 Battle of Leipzig", as the current order makes it seem as if she was named in 1813.
- Done
- suggest linking steam corvette again in the Design section
- Done
- more first link to corvette up to two Leipzig-class corvettes
- Done
- no penalty for the captain for the grounding?
- None mentioned, at least
- suggest "rounding
South AmericaCape Horn"?- Cape Horn is but one of three methods to sail from the Pacific to the Atlantic ;) (i.e., Cape Horn would be the Drake Passage - you can bypass Cape Horn by using the Strait of Magellan or the Beagle Channel) HRS doesn't say what exact route was taken, so I left it vague
- what were the German warships doing in Japan?
- HRS doesn't say - presumably visiting different ports, showing the flag, etc.
- 6 officers also should be six
- I think the MoS says you shouldn't mix words and numerals in the same sentence - see MOS:NUMNOTES
- KK Herbing? Herbig? Another example as well.
- Those are two different individuals, believe it or not (and HRS reference both multiple times, so it's highly unlikely to be a typo on their part).
- OK, does the source give a first name for Herbing?
- No, unfortunately. I checked the entry on Pfeil too, since he served as that ship's commander after leaving Leipzig, and that was also just the last name.

- do we have a first name for Hartog?
- Yes
- sheled
- Fixed
- [Yokohama
- Fixed
- into a both? both into a?
- How about "into both a"?
- File:SMS Leipzig NH 88765.tif licence needs work, no date of publication. Perhaps the NH licence would be better?
- I suppose that can't hurt.
Great job on this. Placing on hold for the above to be addressed. Cheers, Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 07:47, 31 August 2018 (UTC)
