More on Operation Albion

[edit]

von Gagern, Ernst (1962). Der Krieg in der Ostsee: Dritter Band: Von Anfang 1916 bis zum Kriegsende (in German). Frankfurt: Verlag von E.S. Mittler & Sohn. - seems to suggest Blitz was active during operation Albion (see the index on p. 445), with p. 193 and 198 appearing to say that Blitz had troops embarked. Ideally someone with better German (who can deal with the difficult to decipher fraktur font used) could confirm my Google based attempt at translations and if appropriate, add something to the article.Nigel Ish (talk) 21:19, 20 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I had tried going through the postwar German sources at one point, but there are few things I hate more than fraktur. But I did some poking around, and this book appears to reference Blitz in connection with Albion. Now to track down a copy. Parsecboy (talk) 22:27, 20 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
