I appear to have gotten a SIGBUS due to an OS error. Linux (Ubuntu) appears to have lost some of the page mapping information for one of my pages when it ran low on memory. (In order to get a SIGBUS, Linux must think the address is in my address space (or it would have given me a SIGSEGV) but the virtual address must translate to a non-existant physical address. The address was working for a long time before getting lost at about the time that the system ran low on memory. I'm reading bytes from a static array so data alignment issues don't apply.
