First name, initial, or title? S.

Is "S." her first initial, or is it an honorific indicating her Siddha status? Is she a person otherwise only known by the name Dharmambal? In my review of the DYK nomination I asked about her first name, but I realize now that she may come from a cultural context in which I've misunderstood her name. -Kenirwin/(talk) 20:43, 17 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Mostly names in Tamil Nadu, Initial denotes person's father name. Here "S." denotes Saminathan, her father's name. I added Indian name template to clarify. Thanks. Gfosankar (talk) 13:45, 18 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
