Retirement / scrapping
[edit]Global security's site states that Berezina was sold to China and scrapped in March 2002. On .ru wiki, they use this source:[1] which says the ship was scrapped in 2000. This is a ~690 ft long ship. If Berezina is still in Sevastopol, please provide a web url linking a current photo, aerial, satellite, or otherwise. Anything later than 2002 will prove the point. https://goo.gl/maps/UPPRt7Hh3WizmtK5A has aerial photos and a measurement tool, the longest ship I'm seeing is only 500 ft long. Where on the map is it? This is a ~690 ft long ship. --Dual Freq (talk) 13:45, 4 February 2023 (UTC)
[2] states "3.2002 decommissioned; towed to Aliaga, Turkey, and sc[r]apped in late 2002". Photo, comments by the photographer say the photo is dated 1999 and "The BEREZINA arrived for scrapping at Aliaga, Turkey on 9/4/'03." --Dual Freq (talk) 14:08, 4 February 2023 (UTC)
