Ice class
[edit]I don't know where the Canadians got the idea that the MPSV06 ships would have the same ice class as CCGS John G. Diefenbaker (IACS PC2). According to the design bureau, the ice class is RMRS Icebreaker 6:
- Icebreaker6: Icebreaker category mark (intended for icebreaking operations in harbour and roadstead water aras as well as in the non-arctic freezing seas with ice up to 1.5 m thick, and capable of forcing the way continuously running in compact ice field up to 1.0 m thick). [1]
It is difficult to compare the ice classes directly due to different rules, but generally PC2 is somewhere around Icebreaker7 and Icebreaker8 and thus considerably stronger than the MPSV06 especially when the size of the vessel is taken into account. Tupsumato (talk) 11:01, 9 May 2013 (UTC)
- Also, good luck with breaking 1.5-metre ice around the year with just 7 MW at the shaft and and inadequate ice class for the Arctic waters. I think the CASR article vastly overestimates the capability of these icebreakers and thus should be taken with a grain of salt. Tupsumato (talk) 11:06, 9 May 2013 (UTC)
Blacklisted Links Found on the Main Page
[edit]Cyberbot II has detected that page contains external links that have either been globally or locally blacklisted. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed, or are highly innappropriate for Wikipedia. This, however, doesn't necessarily mean it's spam, or not a good link. If the link is a good link, you may wish to request whitelisting by going to the request page for whitelisting. If you feel the link being caught by the blacklist is a false positive, or no longer needed on the blacklist, you may request the regex be removed or altered at the blacklist request page. If the link is blacklisted globally and you feel the above applies you may request to whitelist it using the before mentioned request page, or request its removal, or alteration, at the request page on meta. When requesting whitelisting, be sure to supply the link to be whitelisted and wrap the link in nowiki tags. The whitelisting process can take its time so once a request has been filled out, you may set the invisible parameter on the tag to true. Please be aware that the bot will replace removed tags, and will remove misplaced tags regularly.

Separate infoboxes
[edit]Perhaps we could have separate infoboxes for each ship class? Tupsumato (talk) 12:02, 15 July 2015 (UTC)
