Date query
[edit]The current biography has no information on what Stannard was doing between 1997 and 1999. Are the dates of his retirement and beginning of his Emeritus status correct? 79.66.229.152 (talk) 16:01, 12 November 2008 (UTC)
- It's possible that he was travelling at relativistic speeds during this time. As far as he was concerned, his emeritus status began upon his retirement, but from our frame of reference his career progression slowed to a crawl due to time dilation. Old Man of Storr (talk) 20:08, 3 March 2010 (UTC)
Radio Career
[edit]Was not Stannard the main presenter of a Radio Four series called "Science and Wonders" that went out in the 1990s? Should this be added to this article? 81.140.1.129 (talk) 20:46, 1 May 2017 (UTC)
I have just done some internet browsing and I found out it went out on Radio Four in the Spring of 1996. It was a five-part series. 81.140.1.129 (talk) 20:51, 1 May 2017 (UTC)
Photograph of Russell Stannard
[edit]Why is it that when one does a Google search for Russell Stannard, one sees a photograph of Stannard in what appears to be a Wikipedia article at the top right-hand corner screen, but there does not appear to be a photograph of Stannard in this article?Vorbee (talk) 20:44, 31 July 2017 (UTC)
Query about the Templeton Prize
[edit]This article says that Stannard was the 1986 winner of the Templeton Prize, but the article on the Templeton Prize says that the 1986 winner was the Reverend James I. McCord. Vorbee (talk) 20:30, 4 September 2017 (UTC) I see that some one has now changed Templeton Prize to "Templeton UK Project Award" which means that, looking at Wikipedia as a whole, things do make more sense. Vorbee (talk) 17:07, 20 June 2018 (UTC)
Until recently
[edit]This article says "until recently", two of Stannard's works of sculpture were on display at the Open University. This is vague, and may go out of date - would it not be more precise to put in the year when they stopped being on display at the Open University? Vorbee (talk) 19:59, 6 April 2018 (UTC)
