[edit]Does anyone know his date of birth? Read some where that he was 18 when Kimono My House was recorded
- Full birth details are now included on the article page.
- The "1948" date seems dubious, if Ron is his older brother... Since if the birth date listed for Ron (Aug. 12, 1948) is correct, it must have been quite unpleasant for their mother. I don't think she carried both children for up to 7 months, then gave birth to Ron while still pregnant with Russell for two more months. (Although that situation would make an interesting Sparks lyric.) 2fs (talk) 04:27, 19 July 2008 (UTC)
They seem to have fudged their birth dates at some point and are stuck in the deception. According to this fan site (http://graphikdesigns.free.fr/halfnelson-ron-russ-mael.html) they are listed as having been born in 1948 and 1953, respectively, but the site goes on to say that an online background checking website that uses public records for sources (records.com) lists their birth dates as 1945 and 1948, respectively. This would make them, as of this writing (Februrary 2012) 66 and 63 years old. An article in the Los Angeles Times upon the occasion of The Seduction of Ingmar Bergman (http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/music_blog/2011/06/the-brothers-mael-concoct-the-seduction-of-ingmar-bergman.html) gives their ages (as of June 2011) as 62 and 57, which implies that they are either still giving out the fudged birth dates, or the Times writer consulted a source using the fudged dates.
Historic in their influential style and artistic vision

Not quite sure if there was an agreement with the producers, but Ron's menacing stare directly into the cameras on Top of the Pops performances was a memorable feature . Did he replicate this on other TV performances. It certainly worked. Also due to the Hitler similarity, a TV documentary revealed that Ron was refused service in
shops while on tour. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.30.108.84 (talk) 07:35, 25 May 2014 (UTC)
