@Harper J. Cole: Hello, please see my GA review for the page below. There are some minor issues to address before I approve it. If you have any problems with my comments please let me know. Thank you! Kimikel (talk) 19:15, 6 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Kimikel Thanks, most of these were straightforward fixes. With regard to the date of birth, I switched the source to Pro Football reference, which is considered reliable (he's given that date on other sources also). With regard to his early life, I took 87 citations, including many full-article profiles, but none of them seem to have explored his early years, only his career and his second home in Micronesia. It may be that he preferred not to talk about those years for reasons unknown, or possibly journalists were less thorough in their coverage of offensive linemen back then. Harper J. Thank you for your quick response. It's unfortunate there's not much more about his early life, but that can't be helped and the article is still comprehensive without it. With that done, there's nothing left for me to say; I'm approving this article, thank you for your work and congratulations! Kimikel (talk) 00:42, 9 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Well-written

[edit]

The arrangement of having the statistics within the NFL section, followed by accolades, followed by personal life, seems a little odd to me. It's not a GA requirement, but most athlete pages usually have career details, followed by personal life, followed by statistics, followed by accolades/awards (see FA Joe Sakic). Again, you don't have to do it like that for GA, but at least consider doing so just to maintain uniformity.

Lead

[edit]
  • "one-team man" > one-team player

College career

[edit]
  • "He again missed time with a knee injury that year, this time being out for six games" > He suffered another knee injury that year, missing six games (removing double use of the word "time" and making more concise)
  • Wikilinked junior year but left out "year" for senior year
  • "as well as some plays as a fullback." > as well as fullback on some plays.

Professional career

[edit]
  • "San Diego were disappointing" > The Chargers disappointed
  • "veteran offensive line who" > veteran offensive line which
  • "only allowed Fouts" > only allowed quarterback Dan Fouts (he's never mentioned in the article body previously)
  • "San Diego made the playoffs in each of Washington's four seasons" > he played 13 seasons with them, did you mean his last four?

Legacy

[edit]
  • "trying to throw a condo." > this contains a quote and needs to be sourced at the end of the sentence
  • as, "an extremely... > as "an extremely...
  • "...them on the line" > "...them on the line."

Accolades

[edit]
  • use × not x

Verifiable

[edit]
  • His birthdate and birthplace given in the infobox are not properly sourced anywhere

Spot check

[edit]
  • 1: Only has the title, needs all other info. Doesn't mention Washington's birthdate, which is what is seems to be citing.
  • 52: Remove "Wire reports", verified
  • 23: Verified
  • 10: Verified
  • 42: Verified

Broad

[edit]
  • Honest question: is there no information you can find about his life before college? Childhood, parents, siblings, high school, etc. Given that we know his birthplace, birthdate, and high school according to the infobox, we should have that somewhere in the body itself, probably in an "Early life" section

Neutral

[edit]
  • No issues

Stable

[edit]
  • No issues

Illustrated

[edit]
  • Images meet criteria
