The merge of communities into this article
[edit]A rural municipality is a macro settled area whereas the micro, settled places, communities, towns, neighbourhoods should each have their own separate articles. The rural municipality describes the larger are where the community articles list that particular areas history, etc. For reference see Rural Municipality of Hanover, Rural Municipality of Gimli/Gimli, Manitoba, or the Municipality of Deloraine – Winchester/Deloraine, Manitoba. Unless there is a reason for changing the RM templates I will revert the community pages and any changes to those particular communities histories, etc., can be made there. Also while merging these pages you have removed the reference template, that will need to be added again. For the purpose of this page, the communities therein should be listed, if any further information such as the larger history of the area, infrastructure, etc, can be added here.
It could be debated whether communities like Darwin and River Hills deserve their own pages, stub articles or not. While communities such as Elma, Seven Sisters, and Whitemouth do have a distinct and separate history which are worthy of their own pages. The page for the RM would benefit from its own infobox, which could be copy edited here. Krazytea(talk) 03:40, 17 December 2020 (UTC)
- I'm not sure which RM templates you are referring, to, is this a Manitoba-specific thing? There's definitely precedent for using one article for a merged municipality, see Rouyn-Noranda, Temiskaming Shores, West Nipissing... If there was enough content involved that one article would be too long, that's one thing, but as it stands, the only one that has any content is Elma, Manitoba, and I'd argue that it's mostly unencyclopedic and unsourced, and a lot of it could be deleted. 162.208.168.92 (talk) 00:31, 18 December 2020 (UTC)
Orphaned references in Rural Municipality of Whitemouth
[edit]I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Rural Municipality of Whitemouth's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.
