Merger proposed

[edit]

Re: proposing a merger with hydrological transport model or river flow model to make hydrological model: The problem as I see it is that many models are both runoff models and hydrological transport models, eg HBV.Babakathy (talk) 08:51, 18 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The hydrological transport model and Runoff model are quite different and merging will not be easy. There are also pages on hydrological modelling and surface-water hydrology that, though both are brief and very general, should then also be merged with hydrological model. In fact Hydrograph should not be omitted either. R.J.Oosterbaan (talk) 20:05, 18 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
By the way: the link HBV given by Babakathy points to hepatitis. R.J.Oosterbaan (talk) 20:09, 18 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Aah, good: I had not found hydrological modelling. That article could make sense as an overall article with summary sections and links for the main articles on runoff model and hydrological transport model.
Yes, hydrological modelling could be extended as you suggest. Next question: who is going to do that? R.J.Oosterbaan (talk) 14:53, 20 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I have changed "Runoff model" into Runoff model (reservoir) and added the sections "Groundwater modelling" and "Surface water modelling" to Hydrological modelling. The sections may be expanded. R.J.Oosterbaan (talk) 15:05, 24 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
