Cleanup
[edit]I cleaned this up a little but it still needs some work. User: Big Bad June 20.
I've cleaned up this article to some extent from the trash that it was before, but the plot section needs to be addressed because I am not sure where the current introduction has come from and whether it has been directly copied from a website. I am unfamiliar with the film and need someone to edit or completely change that. mrosscan Feb 18.
Copyvio?
[edit]The summary draws heavily from the IMDB summary submitted by "Anonymous". --zandperl 00:51, 20 August 2006 (UTC)
Link to the Pedophilia and child sexual abuse in films article?
[edit]Why is that there? There was no hard evidence or even a clean implication that that was even in the movie. Of course I didn't pay THAT much attention to it...it's hard to pay attention to such a crappy film. Anyway, can anyone verify this?
---If you don't remember, please read the plot outline given on the page. It is definitely present in this film. 72.130.176.101 08:56, 17 November 2006 (UTC)ac
Pretty clearly there. Maybe you saw the movie with Gregory Hines.72.55.212.180 07:51, 20 May 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, the pedophilia bit has all the sublety of an anvil. 98.200.63.58 (talk) 23:36, 24 November 2007 (UTC)

Director of Photography
[edit]The DoP is James Whitaker, the link is wrong. There is no article about him on Wiki. Uvik (talk) 09:03, 19 August 2008 (UTC)
Cult film?
[edit]I know it's subjective, but did this really become a cult film? I thought it just bombed, and was ignored. Infact, I really did find this looking for the movie with Gregory Hines. --99.6.140.108 (talk) 18:48, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
Well, maybe it has something to do with the fact that the film has been enormously successful on DVD (yes, it did bomb theatrically due to terrible marketing and an aversion to seeing Paul Walker play a tough guy lead). My New Line contact tells me that it's done over 50 million dollars on home video. The film also has been rated quite highly on IMDB (7.6) and has been voted on 33,366 times (as I write this) - that's way more votes than most movies which bomb at the box office usually get. If you visit, youtube, viewers have edited many music videos to the many stylish shots from Running Scared. The pedophile sequence has been drawing a huge number of viewers of youtube as well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uBzudcB3iDw The youtube clip currently has 43,844 views - even more votes than IMDB. The film has become very influential among younger viewers and is quoted as being a favorite film on many of their myspace pages. There are also quite a few Running Scared Facebook fan pages. Given that the film was only released in 2006, I'm sure in ten years it will have fully earned its status as a "cult film," but, yes, there is a lot of evidence that it is heading in that direction. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ned Racine (talk • contribs) 12:21, 25 May 2009 (UTC)
Hansel & Gretel?
[edit]The film seems to draw some parallels to Hansel & Gretel? Is there any hard citation so it can be put in the article? 87.194.8.35 (talk) 23:34, 27 June 2009 (UTC)
