@Abryn: Just wondering if you were still interested in reviewing this article. If not, that's fine—I can hit up WPVG to get the review reset so someone else can come in. JimmyBlackwing (talk) 23:20, 8 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, sorry that it's been a while. I got hit with a lot of junk all at once IRL and it's caused me to be setback on Wikipedia editing. I will have the review done by tomorrow. - Bryn (talk) (contributions) 23:26, 8 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

General

Article interchangeably uses "." and "".
This is done per MOS:LQ: punctuation appears inside quotation marks when it appeared in the original quote, and outside when it did not. JimmyBlackwing (talk) 02:25, 9 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Oh dip really? Shit, I learned something today.

Lead

Multiple dates mentioned only in lead and do not appear to have sources corroborating them.
Unsure what you mean—I believe the dates mentioned in the lead are all taken from dates mentioned (with citations) in the article body. There might be a possible exception for a few of the release dates in the infobox, if that's what you're referring to. If there's an issue I'm missing, please feel free to let me know. JimmyBlackwing (talk) 02:25, 9 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I see that the iOS release (for instance) is said to have been released in June, but doesn't specify June 6.

Gameplay

Too many uses of the player, try using "them" periodically
I didn't notice any instances where a "they" fit as a replacement (near the end of the section, for example, a "they" could signify either the player or the puzzles), but managed to eliminate one "the player" by switching to passive voice. JimmyBlackwing (talk) 02:25, 9 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Concept and design

No need to hyphenate "tightly-structured game" as the hyphen is implied by the "ly" word.
Rephrase to clarify that Pendulo staff self-describe
Did both of these. JimmyBlackwing (talk) 02:25, 9 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Debut and turmoil

It says that "certain commentators" speculated on a matter, but it only seems to be cited to one source.
Here's what the source (Computer Idea) says:
"Uno de sus últimos, Runaway, fue un éxito considerable, lo que hacía poner grandes esperanzas en la supervivencia de la empresa"
(Google Translation) "One of his last, Runaway, was a considerable success, which put high hopes for the survival of the company"
I understood this to mean that Computer Idea was reporting the opinions of market-watchers (i.e. "certain commentators") at the time. That still seems correct to me, but if you think it's debatable, I can rephrase the sentence. JimmyBlackwing (talk) 02:25, 9 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Not questioning it so much as curious about what it meant, thanks for clarifying! - Bryn (talk) (contributions) 12:33, 10 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Images

Make sure that all images have full rationales; rationales should not have n.a.
Done. JimmyBlackwing (talk) 02:25, 9 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

See also

Is there a reason why these games are mentioned in particular?
Yes. The game was released around the same time as Escape from Monkey Island, and both games were often mentioned in the same breath by the Spanish press (simply because both were cartoonish adventures from the same era). I didn't end up including any of that in the article because it tended to be stray comments, but it seemed worth a "See also". Syberia is present because it was another global-hit adventure game released around the same time, and it hails from France, where Runaway was particularly popular. I saw Runaway and Syberia mentioned together by certain sources while I researched (especially with regard to the "revival" of the adventure genre), so a mention seemed logical. The Black Mirror was Runaway's chief sales rival in Germany, per DTP, which published both games in that country. Finally, The Westerner was the next major Spanish adventure game released after Runaway, and both games were mentioned together regularly in Spanish sources. (As with Escape, these mentions tended to be stray comments outside the scope of the main article.)

Damn, so thorough. - Bryn (talk) (contributions) 12:33, 10 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@JimmyBlackwing: Should be ready to pass once these issues are resolved. - Bryn (talk) (contributions) 00:25, 9 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you! I've responded in-line. JimmyBlackwing (talk) 02:25, 9 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Apologies again for falling behind with this review. If I do take up another of yours, it will be much more expedient. - Bryn (talk) (contributions) 12:33, 10 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Many thanks nonetheless! My hope was to get the article to GA before the middle of this month, and the delay didn't prevent that, so it's no problem at all. Thanks again for taking the time to review the article. JimmyBlackwing (talk) 17:36, 10 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
