Rugby League
[edit]Can we have a comparison of RL and RU numbering in this article as well please.
- Why? It's not a RL vs RU article. It's a RU only article.GordyB (talk) 23:40, 18 February 2014 (UTC)
- Rugby league evolved from the same source, and its own system relates to older non-standard RU numbering systems.-MacRùsgail (talk)
- It's fine to compare older non-standard RU numbering to modern numbering but RL 1895 onwards isn't part of RU history. You might as well bring in soccer (evolved from the same source). AT best RL should be a footnote.GordyB (talk) 19:31, 3 March 2014 (UTC)

- Soccer is entirely divergent, but other than the loss of flankers, RL retains the exact same positions as RU, and the numbering system is relevant in that sense.
- They might have similar names but they are really not the same positions.GordyB (talk) 16:51, 6 March 2014 (UTC)

League numbering
[edit]RL numbering is only half reverse; the backs count from back to front, the forwards from front to back. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.240.158.52 (talk) 13:56, 25 May 2015 (UTC)
