[edit]I found two records on Ancestry that I think refer to Díaz. The first is https://search.ancestry.co.uk/cgi-bin/sse.dll?indiv=1&dbid=8842&h=4054590&tid=&pid=&queryId=62b0df8d54bc73bcfe71e269b4c282ab&usePUB=true&_phsrc=qTy143&_phstart=successSource.
It gives his full name as Rufino Raul Díaz y Paloma. The image says that he was a baseball player coming to fulfil a contract, although it talks about Virginia rather than New York.
There's another record here -https://search.ancestry.co.uk/cgi-bin/sse.dll?indiv=1&dbid=8842&h=7956359&tid=&pid=&queryId=62b0df8d54bc73bcfe71e269b4c282ab&usePUB=true&_phsrc=qTy143&_phstart=successSource.
This one is for a Rufino Raul Díaz Palomo, born 30 July 1921. He has an address in New Jersey, according to the image.
