Union forces did not rout the CS forces at Ruff's Mill

"... where the Union routed the Confederates, made history as the only line of Confederate earthworks successfully charged and overrun during the Atlanta Campaign." is an incorrect statement. All that was pushed back was the forward line of skirmishers that both armies always placed ahead of their main infantry and artillery line. Hood's main line did not budge and inflicted very heavy losses to the attacking blue coats. Numerous sources support this. Rjr1960 (talk) 05:48, 27 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
