Closing verse
[edit]In the closing verse, all the other instruments are silenced and the only (or main) one heard is a tambourine. This seems to create the sense of foreboding and doom. The songs's final lyrics--which are spoken more than sung--are almost as chiling as the "I'd get my gun/And put her in the ground" phrase: "Oh Ruby for God's sake turn around." 169.199.131.165 22:00, 4 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit]The ‘reply’ song doesn’t explain why she ‘has’ to go to town. Check the lyrics.
