Bottleneck
[edit]The article refers to Lacey's bottleneck playing. However, he doesn't play slide guitar on either of the available recordings (Hamhound Crave and Mississippi Jailhouse Groan). Is there any confirmation that Lacey was in fact a slide player ? 98.30.49.10 (talk) 11:23, 1 September 2010 (UTC)
- A fair enough question, and one that is long unanswered. On the basis of 'better late than never', I quote a line or two from Deep Blues, Robert Palmer, 1981, ISBN 9780140062236, page 81. Palmer wrote "... Son (House) fell under the spell of another Delta bluesman with a preaching background and strong church leanings, Rubin Lacy, and began emulating his slide guitar style". I have a copy of that book, but it is now available to peruse online here. Also see Son House's own Wikipedia article, where Lacy/Lacey's influence is mentioned.
